Should the Conrad Weiser Area School District be forced to change its regular hours of operation due to physical plant, weather, or other emergency conditions, the following procedures will be used:
You will receive a notification via the CW app, this will be used as a first step to alert parents of any schedule change.
It will also be noted on the district website.
Announcements will also be made:
A two-hour delay indicates that the school day begins at 11:15 a.m. instead of 9:15 a.m. Students will be picked up 2 hours later than they would typically be picked up at their regular bus stop.
The district may use up to 5 FIDs each year in the place of a traditional snow day
Hopefully, this will keep our Spring Break intact along with the last day of school
Any days beyond the 5 FIDs will be traditional snow days
Teachers will be available to you/your child via SeeSaw from 10am - 3pm on a FID
All work provided for your child will be a review of previously covered material
Students will have a reading, writing, phonics/content, math activity for each day
Specialists will provide a choice chart for FIDs
First, the District will send an update to families regarding the use of the FID
Then, I will send an update to West families indicating which FID we will be completing
Finally, the classroom teacher will send a SeeSaw message to let students and families know what to expect that day
Elementary special education teaching staff will be available via Seesaw for questions. Related Service Providers (Speech, OT, PT, Social Work, Social Skills) may provide services during the FID Day or they may offer make-up sessions at a later date.
Your child must submit any FID work within three days of our return to school. This additional time allows for students who need additional help or time and your family’s individual needs. If your child does not submit the FID work they will be marked absent. Due to the nature of this process, you will not be notified of this absence by robocall. However, you can check your child’s attendance in Skyward at any time or reach out to the classroom teacher to confirm that your child has turned in their required work.
Your child's classroom teacher will send home FID packets. Please keep the packet somewhere safe for when it is needed.
